Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - An interregional seminar of imams of regional structures of the Muslim Spiritual Muslim Board of the Asian part of Russia was held last weekend at the Al Amin mosque in the city of Chebarkul, Chelyabinsk region. For two days, spiritual mentors who came from the Kurgan, Tyumen, Sverdlovsk regions and districts of the Chelyabinsk region listened to the speeches of specialists from the education department of the regional muftiate of the DUMACHR, guests from Moscow and Astrakhan. A representative of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Chelyabinsk region also spoke to the imams.

“The seminar was devoted to the prevention of radicalism and extremism, and we focused on the Koranic evidence of the inadmissibility of extremes in Islam,” Vugar Akperov, Mufti of the Spiritual Muslim Board of the Chelyabinsk Region, told bbabo.net. – The topic of counteracting radicalism, no matter how much it has been talked about in recent years, remains relevant, and imams who work directly with youth in mosques should improve their knowledge, be able to reasonably answer all questions based on the Koran and sunnah.

The imams of the regions of the Ural Federal District thanked the organizers for the warm welcome and hospitality and expressed their hope that such meetings would be held regularly.
