Without clothes in a roundabout way. How a soldier of King Casimir's division fled to Belarus

Polish soldier Emil Chechko from the division named after King Casimir made his way across the border of Poland and Belarus and asked for political asylum from Minsk - this information appeared on the website of the Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus. After that, Poland reported that one of the soldiers was missing. According to Warsaw, the man had problems with the law - and he was going to leave the service. The Belarusian Border Committee reported that the Polish border guard asked Minsk for political asylum.

According to the department, the border guards found him on the Belarusian-Polish border. It is known that this is "Emil Chechko, born in 1996, a serviceman of the Polish Armed Forces."

According to the young man, he served in the 11th Mazurian artillery regiment of the 16th Pomeranian mechanized division named after King Casimir. Parts of this unit were transferred to the border to protect it from migrants. This measure is in effect during an emergency on the border areas of Poland.

“In connection with disagreement with the policy of Poland regarding the migration crisis and the practice of inhumane treatment of refugees, the serviceman asked for political asylum in the Republic of Belarus,” the border service said.

At the same time, the Polish soldier gave an interview to the Belarusian state TV channel.

He said that he had escaped "through the barbed wire, tore his pants, injured his hand, and ran across the no-man's land." There he saw a Polish patrol. “I took off my uniform and, without clothes, ran in a roundabout way towards Belarus. I decided to leave the Polish army in this way, because it is impossible to keep silent about what is happening on the territory of Poland, ”Chechko told ATN TV channel.

Following these reports, statements by the Polish side appeared. The division in which the soldier served posted a message on its Twitter page about the disappearance of one soldier. He "disappeared while performing official duties in the area of the Narevka, Semyanovka and Semyanovskoye Lake areas."

Polish National Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said the missing soldier had "serious problems with the law." He applied to leave the service.

At the same time, the head of the department emphasized that the missing soldier "in no case should have been sent to serve on the border (with Belarus)." Blashchak said that he had already "demanded to find out who will be responsible for this."

At the same time, Warsaw does not confirm the information of the Belarusian Border Committee. A source in the Polish security forces told RIA Novosti that Chechko left without weapons.

What is happening on the border of Belarus and the EU countries

This year, European countries are complaining about Minsk in connection with the increase in the number of migrants at the border of Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. The Belarusian authorities have repeatedly argued that they did not organize the migration crisis. At the same time, they do not intend to restrain the flow of refugees - because of the sanctions, there is "neither money, nor effort."

In November, a camp of migrants was formed near the border of Belarus and Poland. Several thousand people have accumulated there. They tried to break through the border, but the Polish military, who were pulled together in connection with the emergency, stopped the migrants with the help of special equipment.

Belarusian border guards have repeatedly accused Lithuania, Poland and Latvia of forcibly expelling migrants to the territory of Belarus. In particular, the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic, Anatoly Glaz, said earlier that migrants "from the EU were doused with pesticides and tear gas."

In Poland, meanwhile, they note that the military is suffering from clashes with refugees. So, the Border Guard of the country reported on December 12 that a soldier was wounded.

“On the section of the Polish-Belarusian border in the Cheremsha region, a group of 55 aggressive-minded people crossed the border. One soldier of the Polish Army was stabbed in the face, ”the release says.

In addition, the Polish authorities accuse the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko of "using migrants as a weapon."
