Russia voiced its attitude to Bosnia's accession to NATO

Bosnia and Herzegovina has the right to join NATO, however, in this case, Moscow reserves the right to respond. This was stated on Thursday by the Russian Ambassador to Sarajevo, according to the Daily Sabah.

“If Bosnia and Herzegovina becomes a member of any alliance, then this is an internal affair of the country. However, our answer is a completely different question. The example of Ukraine shows what we expect. If any threat arises, we will respond to it," Igor Kalabukhov said in an interview with FTP.

He stressed that by accusing Russia of preparing any plan, the West endangers the security of Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to him, now Russia has no plans to change its policy towards this country, but these changes may occur if the strategic and geopolitical situation in the Balkans is corrected.

He noted that there is currently no consensus within Bosnia itself on the need to join NATO.
