The German Defense Ministry has proposed imposing sanctions on Ukraine against Russian President Vladimir Putin and his entourage. The head of the department Christine Lambrecht told about this in an interview with Bild.

“We have to use the entire toolbox that we have. We need to target Putin and those around him right now. The perpetrators of aggression must feel the personal consequences, for example, that they will no longer be able to go to the Champs Elysees in Paris for shopping, ”the minister said.

According to her, tough sanctions also apply to “the whole set”.

Over the past few weeks, Ukrainian and Western media have been reporting the alleged preparations for a Russian invasion of Ukraine. In particular, Bloomberg, citing sources, reported that US intelligence believes that Russia can allegedly prepare an invasion of Ukraine in early 2022 and conduct it from three directions - from the Crimea, on the mainland and through Belarus.

Earlier it became known that a number of large states of the European Union oppose plans to impose sanctions on Russia due to reports that Moscow is allegedly planning an invasion of Ukraine.
