Moldova (bbabo.net), - The US Ambassador to Moldova, Kent Doyle Logsdon, believes that there are no prerequisites now that Moldova could become an object of attack by Russia. “At the moment, there are no signs that the Republic of Moldova could become the target of an attack, but we are very concerned about what might happen in the region,” Logsdon said.

According to him, the situation in Ukraine today is rather difficult and the international community is doing everything possible to support the Ukrainian people.

Meanwhile, Logsdon touched upon the topic of resolving the Transnistrian conflict. According to the American ambassador, this issue should be discussed in the current negotiation formats.

“We continue to pin our hopes on the 5+2 format under the auspices of the OSCE, we expect to keep lines of dialogue open. We will continue to monitor the situation,” Logsdon said.

The American ambassador visited the Fides accommodation center for Ukrainian refugees. He assured that the United States will provide financial assistance to Moldova and assist in the transportation of internally displaced persons who plan to move to other countries.

"We will provide over $300 million in assistance to Ukraine and the entire region. In addition, in the next six months, the United States will allocate $30 million to Moldova to help refugees," the US ambassador said.
