The Russian Ambassador replied to the Prime Minister of Poland, who promised to stop Nord Stream 2

Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergei Andreev, in an interview with Izvestia, responded to Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who urged to abandon the launch of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

According to him, the arguments against the Russian project are untenable, and the real possibilities of Poland in this matter are limited. “With regard to the launch of Nord Stream 2, the decision, of course, will not be made in Poland,” the ambassador said.

Andreev called the calls of the Polish minister for an antimonopoly investigation against Gazprom strange, since they have no grounds or prospects.

The diplomat doubts that Warsaw will be able to find a more profitable gas supplier than Gazprom. He concluded that the whole topic of gas relations between Russia and the EU is extremely politicized, for which the representatives of Poland are also to blame.

The Polish prime minister has repeatedly criticized the project, calling to prevent its launch "for the sake of peace" and to stop "supplying" Russian President Vladimir Putin with "additional money" for arms. He believes that Russia is allegedly using gas as a "political bargaining chip".

In addition, the politician believes that Gazprom, Nord Stream 2 and Russia are involved in the emergence of high inflation in European countries. He explained this position by the fact that the rise in prices in European countries was caused by the rise in fuel prices, and the indicated Russian companies and Moscow itself were responsible for the high prices of energy carriers.
