Moldova (bbabo.net) - Any unrecognized territory that is not covered by international law is an exceptional risk, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President's Office and member of the negotiating group between Ukraine and Russia, said today on TV8.
This is how he commented on the security risks posed by the Transnistrian region.
According to the adviser, the country's territorial integrity is extremely important for investors and improving the country's prospects in the European market. At the same time, the unrecognized territory remains a "grey zone" that is not regulated by international law.
Podolyak noted that he was not ready to say that Russia could escalate the conflict in another country. In Kyiv, they also do not see activity from Transnistria, but they are watching the region, since the risk always remains.
"We are very well aware of the risks from all sides: from Belarus, Crimea, Transnistria. We analyze all the risks, we have everything necessary to respond in case of inadequate behavior from these territories. Everything is under control, Ukraine is well aware of the risks, keeps the situation under control ", - said Podolyak.
According to him: "Moldova met all the expectations of Ukraine."
"Moldova supports us and has taken a clear position on the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. For us, this is all very important. We understand that Moldova cannot, like France or Germany, provide full resource assistance, but now, out of courage, some countries will give odds to many" giants," Podolyak said.
