Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - As part of her speech at the VII Inter-Parliamentary Forum "Tajikistan - Russia: the potential for interregional cooperation", Lilia Gumerova, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture, spoke about the implementation of the project "Russian Teacher Abroad" in RT.
She noted that today 48 teachers from Russia work in Tajik schools and cooperation between countries in this area will expand. Federation Council Chairman Valentina Matviyenko also met with teachers as part of her visit to Dushanbe.
Gumerova also stressed that a large number of Russian teachers who have been working under this program in Tajikistan for almost 5 years plan to continue teaching Tajik students in the future.
The forum also discussed opportunities for applicants from Tajikistan, in particular, it was about quotas for receiving secondary specialized education. According to Gumerova, increasing the number of quotas for Tajik applicants to 1,000 people will provide an opportunity for labor migrants to Russia not only to engage in low-skilled activities, but to acquire a profession through agreements with universities and colleges, while studying the Russian language.
Recall that construction of 5 Russian schools is underway in Tajikistan, which will be put into operation by September 1, 2022.
