Gang of militant Islamophobes neutralized in Germany

In Germany, the police carried out a massive raid to identify members of the nationalist terrorist network operating in the country, Belta reports with reference to Der Spiegel. The German Attorney General's Office has authorized searches of the homes of 50 suspects in the country's eleven federal states. Hundreds of police officers were involved in the operation. In total, law enforcement officers stormed 61 objects.

Der Spiegel notes that this is "the most severe blow to the militant neo-Nazi environment" in recent times.

The actions of the German security agencies are directed against members of the Atomwaffen Division (AWD). In the spring of 2020, the Bavarian police arrested a 22-year-old AWD member on suspicion of terrorism. The Nuremberg District Court found that extremists were planning an armed attack on a mosque in Bavaria.

The investigation also uncovered links between AWD members and local right-wing groups in Germany. In particular, we are talking about the far-right group Knockout 51 and Combat 18, which called itself "Adolf Hitler's battle group." Now these people are suspected of recruiting new members.

As of 2020, the number of alleged right-wingers in Germany is 33,000. According to estimates by the German intelligence services, almost 40% of them are prone to violence or support it.
