In Moldova, the police received an order to punish even WWII veterans for the St. George ribbon:

Moldova (bbabo.net), - The police were instructed to fine all people, even veterans, who wear the St. George ribbon on May 9. Viorel Cernauteanu, head of the General Inspectorate of Police, stated this during a speech on a public TV channel.

"The police will act exactly as required by the regulatory framework. No deviations. Every police officer knows very well what is the norm governing the ban recently approved by the Parliament," Cernauteanu said.

When asked whether law enforcement agencies and veterans of the Great Patriotic War who will wear the ribbon will be fined, the head of police replied: “This is done through the process of establishing this fact, which is recorded in the process of documenting offenses. If there is a real opportunity to document the case on the spot, this is done immediately right there."

The police chief specified that not a single citizen would be fined, and also expressed the hope that the May 9 events would pass without tension.

“Regardless of how many citizens there will be, there is a way and an opportunity to document, record these violations so that they can later be considered during the trial. Like other types of misdemeanors,” Cernauteanu said.”

Recall, President Maia Sandu said that citizens will pay fines if they continue to wear the St. George ribbon. The statement was made after the announcement of the promulgation of a law banning a number of insignia linked, according to the authorities, to the war in Ukraine. The penalty for this is a fine of up to 9,000 lei or community service from 30 to 60 hours for individuals, and in the case of legal entities, the fine is up to 18,000 lei.

BETWEEN THERE,

Veterans of the Great Patriotic War will receive in Moldova by May 9 a one-time allowance in the amount of 10 thousand lei.

The authorities present this as a great feat, but, as MP Elena Bodnarenko emphasized, this happens every year. Apparently, they simply did not have time to cancel due to ignorance.

However, it is good that this allowance already exists - especially since there are only 167 such veterans left in our country.

Social networks are already saying that there will be something to pay the fine.

By the way, the PAS advertising poster for this benefit was decorated with a photograph of 1937.

Pictured is the Lugou Bridge Incident on July 7, 1937, a firefight between ROC troops and the Imperial Japanese Army.
