Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - The development of the wine industry in Dagestan is one of the priorities of the authorities in the region, follows from the statement of the head of the republic, Sergei Melikov, RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, Dagestan in the production of wine may well replace foreign brands that left the Russian Federation and successfully compete with the products of the Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory.

Melikov noted that through the development of the wine industry, the authorities expect to partially solve the problem of unemployment through the creation of jobs, as well as to receive additional funds for the implementation of social programs.

The authorities set themselves the goal of increasing the area of ​​vineyards to 35,000 hectares in the coming years.
