Ankara spoke about the centers of power working for the split between the Russian Federation and Turkey

The liquidation of the Russian ambassador to Ankara, Andrei Karlov, demonstrated the existence of "centers of power" working for a split in relations between the Russian Federation and Turkey. This statement was made by the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry Mevlut Cavusoglu on the occasion of the five-year anniversary of the death of Ambassador Karlov.

According to the minister, the terrorist attack against the head of the Russian diplomatic mission revealed the existence of many "centers of power" opposed to the development of cooperation between Ankara and Moscow.

From what Cavosoglu said, the murder of the diplomat was a kind of trap for the two countries and, fortunately, they were able to avoid it thanks to dialogue and mutual understanding.

Andrei Karlov died five years ago from bullets fired by police officer Mevlut Mert Altintash during the opening of a photo exhibition dedicated to Russia. In hot pursuit, the killer was found and killed by law enforcement officers. Almost 20 people were involved in the murder case, five of them received life sentences.
