One Syrian soldier killed in an Israeli strike

On Thursday, an Israeli missile hit a target in southern Syria, where Tel Aviv believes Damascus has deployed pro-Iranian militias. As a result of the bombing, one Syrian soldier was killed, according to Arab News.

Recently, Israel's attacks on facilities in Syria have become more frequent. This is due to the desire of Tel Aviv to defeat the forces of Hezbollah, which in the civil war in Syria supports President Bashar al-Assad.

According to the Syrian news agency SANA, the missile was fired from the Golan Heights, an area captured by Israel from Syria in 1967. Syrian air defenses intercepted most of the Israeli missiles, but some still achieved targets, killing one soldier and causing material damage.

In 2019, Donald Trump, contrary to international law, the position of the UN and leading world powers, recognized Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights. However, his move did not receive international support.
