Head of Kaliningrad Region: Frequency of NATO aircraft appearances has increased

Russia (bbabo.net) - The frequency of NATO spy planes around the Kaliningrad region has increased recently. The head of the region Anton Alikhanov told RIA Novosti about this, adding that the guests cannot see anything that they would not see from space.

"This is more of a border check, how quickly we react, see or not see. A standard exchange of courtesies between the military," the governor said. He added that Russian pilots also fly, they can be heard and seen, "everything is fine." According to him, the aviation of the Russian Federation with tracking and detection systems "is also all right."

We will remind that in December it became known about the next provocative flight of NATO aircraft near the borders of the Russian Federation. Over the neutral waters of the Black Sea, two tactical fighters Mirage-2000 and Rafale of the French Aerospace Forces, a CL-600 Artemis reconnaissance aircraft of the US Army, a strategic reconnaissance aircraft RC-135 of the US Air Force, and a French tanker KS-135. Their crews made no attempts to enter Russian airspace.

Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Seei Shoigu said that the need for further qualitative development of the RF Armed Forces is dictated by the difficult military-political situation in the world, the increased activity of NATO countries near the Russian borders. The minister noted that one of the priorities in the development of the army is to increase its combat capability, maintain the combat readiness of nuclear forces and strengthen the potential of non-nuclear deterrence forces.
