Channels RTR-Planet and Russia-24 seem to have been kicked out of HotBird

The RTR-Planet TV channels (this is the international version of the Rossiya 1 TV channel) and Rossiya-24 stopped broadcasting from the HotBird satellite at the position of 13 degrees east longitude (they broadcast at a frequency of 11034 V, now a test card hangs there).

Recall, HotBird 13 gr. E is the most popular satellite in Europe. It also covers North Africa and Asia Minor. HotBird, owned by the French global satellite operator Eutelsat, has historically been used by Russian TV channels to broadcast their international versions to Europe.

As we wrote earlier, from June 3, 2022, we further quote from the official statement of the European Union, “The EU suspends the broadcasting of three more Russian state TV channels in the European Union: Rossiya RTR / RTR Planeta, Rossiya 24 / Russia 24 and TV Center International.”

The European Union calls the use of these channels by the Russian government as a reason, we quote: “tools for manipulating information and spreading disinformation about *** to Ukraine, including propaganda, in order to destabilize countries neighboring Russia, as well as the EU and its member states.”

At the same time, the report says that these TV channels and their employees are not prohibited from “carrying out activities in the EU, for example, when preparing interviews,” i.e. only broadcasting in the EU is prohibited, and the correspondents of these channels can continue to work in the EU countries.

Recall that the TV channels "Russia-1" (in the international version of "RTR-Planet") and "Russia-24" are TV channels of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company" (VGTRK).

Channel One Europe, NTV Mir continue to broadcast from the HotBird satellite, as there are no EU sanctions against them. Previously, the Russian state TV channels RT Simonyan, who fell under sanctions, worked in foreign languages and foreign audience, left the HotBird satellite.
