Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said that if the US and NATO refuse to discuss with Russia its proposals on security guarantees, then all possible options for retaliatory actions will be considered, RIA Novosti reports.

“All issues are considered as a complex. We have heard such proposals from our Belarusian allies. All options will be considered, but much, as I said, will depend on the reaction that we expect to receive from the US and NATO, ”he said, commenting on the possibility of deploying nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus.

Earlier, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei announced the republic’s readiness to deploy nuclear weapons in response to threats from NATO. According to him, the North Atlantic Alliance is very close to the borders of Belarus, while the military activity of the bloc and the number of its military has grown greatly.

The Russian Foreign Ministry, in turn, earlier handed over to the American side the draft treaty between Russia and the United States on security guarantees and an agreement on security measures for Russia and the NATO member states. In the document, the parties undertake to eliminate all existing infrastructure for deploying nuclear weapons outside their territory, to exercise restraint in military planning and during exercises to reduce the risks of possible dangerous situations, and also not to take actions that affect the security of each other.
