Ukraine (bbabo.net), - Gazprom and China's CNPC have signed an additional agreement under which deliveries via the Power of Siberia will be paid in rubles and yuan.

“During the meeting, additional agreements were signed to the long-term contract for the sale of gas along the eastern route — the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. In particular, there has been a transition to making payments for gas supplies to China in the national currencies of the countries — rubles and yuan,” Gazprom reports about the meeting via teleconference between Chairman of the Board Alexei Miller and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CNPC Dai Houliang.

“The new payment mechanism is a mutually beneficial, timely, reliable and practical solution. I believe that it will simplify the calculations, become an excellent example for other companies, and give an additional impetus to the development of our economies,” said the head of Gazprom.

Starting from 2025, the Power of Siberia gas pipeline is planned to be brought to its design capacity, and annually China will receive 38 billion cubic meters of gas in this direction. Another 10 billion cubic meters will be supplied via the Far East route from Sakhalin. Gazprom is also developing a project for the Soyuz Vostok gas pipeline through Mongolia. This project will make it possible to supply another 55 billion cubic meters from Western Siberia, where exports to Europe come from.
