UN: Products and fertilizers from Russia should return to world markets

Russia (bbabo.net), - Food and fertilizer from Russia should gain access to world markets. This was stated by UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary Di Carlo.

“In order to ensure that all those in need receive food, Russian fertilizers and products must go to foreign markets. The UN continues to facilitate the access of these products, which are not under international sanctions, to world markets,” she said at a meeting of the Security Council of the world organization on Ukraine.

The Deputy Secretary General of the UN noted that another part of the agreements on grain - on the export of food from Ukraine - contributes to mitigating the global food crisis.

“Since August 1, 100 ships with 2.3 million tons of food left Ukrainian ports, which went to three continents. 30% of cargo went, including to countries with lower middle incomes. The UN World Food Program chartered three ships to transport wheat from Ukraine for humanitarian operations. Thanks in part to the Black Sea Grain Export Agreement, world food prices are falling, although they remain elevated,” added the Deputy Secretary General.

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, speaking at a plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum, noted that almost all the grain exported from Ukraine went to the EU countries, and not to the poorest countries, where only two ships out of 87 were sent.
