Erdogan announced the detention of one of the leaders of the ISIS in Turkey

Caucasus (bbabo.net), - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Thursday the arrest of one of the key leaders of the Islamic State terrorist group banned in Russia (IS, a terrorist organization whose activities are banned in Russia), NTV reported.

According to him, the Turkish president informed journalists about this on board his plane during his return from Croatia. According to Erdogan, Turkey detained Bashar Khattab Ghazal al-Sumaydai, who was “the third person in ISIS after the ex-leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and Abu al-Hasan al-Hashimi al-Kureishi.” The latter is the brother of al-Baghdadi and is considered the current leader of the ISIS.

Meanwhile, the Turkish TV channel claims that one of the reports of the UN Security Council says that the terrorist named Bashar Khattab Ghazal al-Sumaydai is actually Abu al-Hasan al-Hashimi al-Kureishi, but his first name was hidden.

Erdogan said the militant was detained in Istanbul while trying to enter Turkey. Despite the fact that he tried to change his appearance with a wig and used fake documents, the security forces captured him, as he was being followed long before he intended to enter Turkey.
