Ankara supported Baku: Yerevan is advised to focus on the peace agenda

Caucasus (bbabo.net), Today, September 13, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu had a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov. The parties discussed the armed escalation on the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Following the conversation, the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry posted a message on his Twitter account, as expected, laying the blame on Yerevan and urging it to "stop provocations."

Cavusoglu also recommended that Armenia "focus on peace talks and cooperation with Azerbaijan."

As bbabo.net reported, positional battles went on all last night in separate sections of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, in the direction of the cities of Jermuk, Vardenis, Goris, Kapan of the Gegharkunik and Syunik regions of Armenia. According to the Armenian military department, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces used artillery systems, mortars, drones and large-caliber small arms, striking both military and civilian infrastructure and attempting to advance their positions deep into the territory of the neighboring republic.
