NDI poll: 75% of Georgians are in favor of joining the EU, 69% are in favor of joining NATO

Caucasus (bbabo.net), - 75% of Georgia's population supports joining the European Union. 25% of those polled called the "lack of political will" of the Georgian government the main obstacle to European integration. And 56% believe that the authorities did not do enough to get Georgia the status of a candidate. These are the results of a survey conducted by the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and CRRC Georgia.

Only 32% of residents believe that the authorities will fulfill the 12 conditions set by the European Commission for Georgia to receive the status of an EU candidate.

Joining NATO is supported by 69% of Georgians. A record number, according to the Novosti Georgia portal, is that 62% of Georgians doubt the quality of democracy in the country.

More than half of the population, 56%, do not believe that parliament passes laws on issues that are important to them,

Highly pessimistic expectations. 66% of residents are afraid of an economic downturn, 56% are afraid of the strengthening of Russian influence, 49% of the population considers “Russian military aggression” likely, and 44% predict worsening relations with the EU in 2023.

The survey was conducted from July 14 to August 15, using the method of personal interviews with a nationally representative sample. 2,104 respondents were surveyed. Average error +/- 2%.
