The Kremlin reacted to Pelosi's visit: Loud statements are an obstacle to normalization

Caucasus (bbabo.net), - Russia is ready to welcome the visit of the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Nancy Pelosi to Armenia, if it will really contribute to the stabilization of the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. This was announced today, September 19, to journalists by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.

“Everything that is not in words, but in deeds, and not loudly, not populist, but in reality, quietly and in a businesslike way, can contribute to the normalization of relations, the stabilization of the situation on the border, all this can (we) be welcomed. Can such high-profile actions and statements really contribute to this normalization? We'll see, with time it will all become clear," Peskov said.

As bbabo.net reported, during a three-day visit to Yerevan (September 17-19), the speaker of the lower house of the US Congress held meetings with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Chairman of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan, Defense Minister Suren Papikyan. The leitmotif of the visit was the desire expressed by the American side to find out “how specifically the United States can help Armenia” against the backdrop of the recent armed escalation on the border with Azerbaijan. Pelosi said in Yerevan that, on behalf of the legislative branch of the United States, she condemns the attack of Azerbaijan on the territory of Armenia. At the same time, a signal was sent from the congressmen accompanying Nancy Pelosi that Washington in no way wants to undermine Yerevan’s special security relationship with Moscow.
