Lavrov warned of harsh assessments of the actions of various states at the UN General Assembly

United States (bbabo.net), - At the UN General Assembly, tough assessments of certain actions of various states will definitely be heard, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said today, September 19, at a meeting with accredited heads of diplomatic missions in Moscow.

“I hope our conversation will be interactive. It seems especially important on the eve of the UN General Assembly, which has already opened its 77th session in New York. High-level events begin this week, during which, of course, harsh assessments of certain actions of various states will be made. Probably, there is no getting away from this, ”he said.

The head of Russian diplomacy stressed that the UN was created "not only for polemical exercises, but also in order to fulfill the requirements of its Charter."

“And he demands, on the basis of respect for the sovereign equality of states, to seek collective ways to solve international problems,” the minister added.

He also noted that the difficult situation in the international arena "requires additional contacts and clarification of each other's positions."

“We are witnessing the accumulation of crisis processes, both associated with economic policy, with the policy in the field of energy supply to mankind, and processes that are directly caused by the undermining of the foundations on which the entire system of globalization was based,” he said.

As reported by bbabo.net, the UN General Assembly will be held from 20 to 26 September.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, informed that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov would speak at a meeting of the UN General Assembly, and also plans to hold about 20 bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the forum.
