This was stated by the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for SCO Affairs, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Bakhtiyor Khakimov, RIA Novosti reports on September 20.

He also assured that the SCO will consider the Turkish application as soon as it arrives, but so far there has been no such initiative from Ankara.

At the same time, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said earlier that SCO membership would be one of Turkey's goals.
