The number of residents of Chechnya increased by 1.2% compared to last year

Caucasus (bbabo.net), - The permanent population of the Chechen Republic as of August 1, 2022, according to Chechenstat, is 1,526,800 people.

The number of residents of the republic increased by 18.5 thousand people or 1.2% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

“The increase in the population was due to natural growth, due to the excess of the birth rate over the death rate,” Grozny-inform notes.

It is also noted that the Chechen Republic is the leader in the birth rate among the regions of Russia. The birth rate in the region in January-July of this year amounted to 19.2 per 1,000 population, while the Russian average was 8.9.
