"Our 300 thousand people - this, in my opinion, is the number that will allow us to complete the tasks of the special military operation," Knutov believes.
He recalled that the main goal of the SVO is the complete liberation of Donbass. However, it is possible that in the future buffer zones will be created along the Belgorod and Kursk regions.
“Perhaps, the task of liberating Novorossia will still be set - these are Kharkov, Poltava regions, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, Nikolaev and Odessa. This is already a separate stage. Now such a task is not worth it. Now the task is to liberate the Donbass and complete the liberation of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions,” the expert concluded.
Yuri Knutov stressed that all the mobilized servicemen have already passed military training and know how to behave during hostilities.
“First of all, those people whose specialties are in demand will go. And now, first of all, artillerymen and mortarmen are in demand. Infantry is a key category that is necessary when conducting a special military operation, ”explained Knutov.
He noted that Kyiv is already conducting the fourth wave of mobilization and is also calling for about 300,000 reservists. The strength of the Ukrainian army, together with the territorial defense detachment, is about 1 million people.
