Russia (bbabo.net), - In Russia, new military formations and units will be created to strengthen the protection of the state border and create "operational depth" in the areas of a special military operation in Ukraine. This was announced today, on September 21, by Andrey Kartapolov, head of the State Duma Defense Committee.

“Several new formations and units will be formed, which will primarily be designed to cover the state border, as well as to create operational depth in those areas where the tasks of the special military operation continue,” he said.

He also explained that a little more than 1% of the total number of those liable for military service in the country will be called up for military service as part of the announced partial mobilization. These are those who have in-demand military specialties, combat experience and have served in the armed forces.

“We are not talking about the drafting of conscripts, students and others who have the right not to be drafted under the law on mobilization,” the head of the committee emphasized.

As bbabo.net reported, during the partial mobilization announced today in Russia, 300,000 reservists will be called up, who will be trained before being sent to the NVO zone. The call will not affect students and conscripts, only citizens who have completed military service and have a military specialty are subject to mobilization. According to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, mobilization is carried out primarily to control the territories liberated during the special operation.
