Asia (bbabo.net), - Member of the State Council, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during a meeting in New York with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, said that China continues to hope for a settlement of the Ukrainian crisis through dialogue. This was announced today, September 22, TASS reports with reference to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

According to the agency, the heads of departments discussed the situation in Ukraine, around Taiwan and cooperation within the UN.

“China will continue to maintain an objective and fair position, promote a peaceful settlement and negotiations. We hope that the parties will not give up efforts to engage in dialogue and will adhere to resolving security concerns through peaceful negotiations,” the Chinese Foreign Minister was quoted as saying.

At the same time, Sergey Lavrov and Wang Yi spoke out against the destructive course of the United States towards Taiwan.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the conversation between the two ministers demonstrated a high degree of convergence in the approaches of Russia and China to world affairs, "which allows us to successfully carry out bilateral coordination on the entire palette of international issues, to play a constructive role in shaping a more just and sustainable polycentric world order."
