Azerbaijan called on Armenia to focus on the peace agenda

Caucasus (bbabo.net), - Azerbaijan is demonstrating a commitment to the peace agenda, an approach that is highly appreciated by the United States. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Jeyhun Bayramov today, September 22, in an interview with Real TV.

“We demonstrate commitment to the peace agenda, we say that the proposal to hold a meeting on a peace agreement (between Armenia and Azerbaijan) remains in force. This approach of ours is highly appreciated by the United States,” said the head of the foreign policy department.

Official Baku wants to establish peace and stability in the region, Bayramov stressed.

“If you pay attention to the statement of the State Department (USA), it calls on the parties to continue negotiations on a peace agreement as soon as possible. There is even an expectation and a call to hold such a meeting before the end of September. Everyone wants tension to subside and tranquility to be established in the region,” the minister said.

According to him, Armenia should be constructive and focus on the peace agenda.

Earlier this week, at the initiative of the US Secretary of State, a meeting was held in New York between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, designed to continue the peace process between the two countries after the armed escalation in the region on September 13-14.
