Belarus (bbabo.net), - Foreign Ministers of Belarus and Turkey Vladimir Makei and Mevlut Cavusoglu discussed the situation in Ukraine on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. This was announced today, on September 23, in the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

“The parties exchanged views on the situation in the region and the prospects for resolving the conflict in Ukraine, and confirmed their interest in its peacekeeping settlement,” the report says.

In addition, the Foreign Ministry noted that "the focus of the ministers' attention was on the development of Belarusian-Turkish cooperation in the face of sanctions pressure from Western countries."

Recall that since February 24, Russia has been conducting a special military operation in Ukraine. Belarus does not officially participate in it. Minsk stands for a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
