The Turkish defense industry department announced its readiness to consider the possibility of acquiring Su-35 fighter jets from the Russian Federation on one condition.

According to the head of the department, Ismail Demir, this will become possible in the event of a failure to sign an agreement with the United States on the F-16.

Speaking to CNN Türk, he added that Ankara will be considering various options, including the Su-35.

Earlier, Washington officially notified Ankara that it was excluding it from the F-35 supply program in connection with its acquisition of Russian S-400 air defense systems. At the same time, the Americans promised to supply Turkey with aircraft of an earlier, fourth generation, the F-16, in return. However, this issue is still in limbo due to protests in Congress.
