Georgia is unstable, Abkhazia must always be ready for defense - Lasha Ashuba

Abkhazia (bbabo.net), - Speaker of the Abkhaz Parliament Lasha Ashuba said that when Georgia is talking about opening a second front against Russia, which the US and Ukrainian politicians are forcing them to do, they are talking about Abkhazia and South Ossetia. And although the front is not open now, threats from Georgia remain.

“Today, we can say that the information about the opening of a second front is not confirmed, although in the news, in social networks, there was talk about a referendum on this issue back in mid-September. In our opinion, it was more a political statement than something related to reality. On the other hand, the political situation in Georgia is often unstable and we do not know when the agenda will change and when the Abkhazian and South Ossetian issues will be updated,” Ashuba said.

Georgia, he recalled, continues the policy of militarization, constantly builds up its military potential, conducts joint exercises with NATO, and the issue of defense capability should always be relevant for us, the speaker of the Abkhazian parliament is sure.

The day before, on September 26, the first meeting of the working group on improving mobilization readiness in the republic, created by order of the Prime Minister, was held in Sukhum. Members of the working group discussed issues of logistical, financial and medical support for the Armed Forces of Abkhazia.

Today, September 27, Abkhazia celebrates the Day of the Liberation of Sukhum from the troops of the Georgian invaders. As a result of the offensive operation on September 27, 1993, the Abkhaz army liberated the capital of the republic from the troops of the State Council of Georgia. The operation to liberate the Abkhazian capital, which lasted 12 days, was led by Defense Minister Major General Sultan Sosnaliev and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Abkhazia Major General Sergei Dbar.
