Religious procession took place in Nagorno-Karabakh: the second anniversary of the start of the 44-day war

Caucasus (bbabo.net), - Today, on September 27, on the second anniversary of the start of the 44-day war, a religious procession was held in the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh in memory of the fallen soldiers. The President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Arayik Harutyunyan took part in the mourning events.

Accompanied by officials, he visited the Warriors Park in Stepanakert, laying flowers at the stand in memory of those killed during the 44-day war. Then, together with representatives of the clergy, former and current officials of the unrecognized republic, he took part in the procession.

On November 9, 2020, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint statement on the complete cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, which began on September 27 and lasted 44 days. As a result of the war, the Armenian side lost control over all the regions around the NKR, as well as part of the immediate territory of the republic, including the cities of Shushi and Hadrut. Russian peacekeepers are stationed in the conflict region.
