The EU reacted to a new aggravation in the South Caucasus: Peace cannot be imposed by force

Caucasus (bbabo.net), - Peace cannot be imposed by force, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar said today, September 29, commenting on a new incident on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

“Again there have been reports of three soldiers killed and one wounded. These and many other senseless sacrifices fuel hatred and instability. Security is only really possible if the boundaries are respected and the troops do not collide with each other at close range. Peace cannot be imposed by force,” the EU Special Representative said on Twitter.

According to the Armenian Ministry of Defense, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, illegally located on the sovereign territory of Armenia, last Wednesday once again violated the ceasefire regime using mortars and large-caliber small arms, opened fire on the eastern direction of the border. As a result, three people died from the Armenian side. The military department of Azerbaijan denied accusations against them regarding the violation of the ceasefire regime, and pointed to one wounded Azerbaijani soldier as a result of shelling from the Armenian side.
