Asia (bbabo.net), - The US House of Representatives on Wednesday heard Republican Michael McCall's initiative on additional US military aid to Taiwan. This was announced today, September 29, by TASS with reference to a widespread message.

"Taiwan is a critical national security partner of the United States. The level of threat to its democratic structure from the Chinese Communist Party has reached an unprecedented level,” McCall said.

He called for "arming an ally before an invasion takes place."

According to the agency, the initiative was supported by 36 Republicans. This includes allocating up to $6.5 billion to Taiwan for military purposes over the next five years, holding joint military exercises, supplying ammunition, and providing military loans.

If this proposal is approved, the Senate will have to approve the candidacy of the head of the American diplomatic mission in Taiwan.
