Moldova considers Novorossia temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine

Ukraine (bbabo.net), - Moldova does not recognize the results of the "referendums on joining Russia", which took place in the territories of Ukraine. This was officially announced in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI), emphasizing that they consider these areas "temporarily occupied by Russia."

“These pseudo-referendums are a false pretext forcible annexation of the sovereign territories of Ukraine. Our country does not recognize the results of these illegal actions and reiterates its support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders,” the MFAEI said in a statement.

Recall that the Moldovan authorities from the first days of the Russian special operation in Ukraine took the side of the Kyiv regime and, despite the neutrality enshrined in the constitution, even partially supported Western sanctions. Last week, Moldovan Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu wrote on social networks that "Moldova strongly condemns Russia's plan to annex the occupied regions of Ukraine through fictitious referendums" and supports the territorial integrity of its neighbors, calling "fictitious" any attempts to express the will of the people.

Earlier, President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu supported the so-called "Crimean Platform" (an international format invented by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Zelensky), and signed a joint document that obliges Moldova to "put pressure on Russia so that it stops the temporary occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol and regains control Ukraine over this territory. Now she also says that she does not recognize referendums in Novorossiya.

“We do not recognize either referendums or their results, of course. We respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine within internationally recognized borders,” Sandu said in an interview with Jurnal TV on Wednesday.

Earlier, in the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, as well as in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions of Ukraine liberated from neo-Nazis, a referendum on joining Russia was held from September 23 to 27. After counting 100% of the ballots, 93.11% of the residents of the Zaporozhye region, 98.42% of the residents of the "LPR", 99.23% of the residents of the "DPR" and 87.05% of the residents of the Kherson region voted "for". Turnout in different regions ranged from 78 to over 97%.
