This was stated today, October 13, in his speech by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the sixth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), which is taking place in Astana.

Putin noted that this "meeting is taking place against the backdrop of serious changes in global politics and the economy", "the world is becoming truly multipolar, and Asia plays a very noticeable, if not a key role in this, where new centers of power are growing stronger."

“The countries of the Asian region are the locomotive of world economic growth. Here, such integration associations as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, and the Eurasian Economic Union operate dynamically and with good results. Russia is also actively involved in all these processes. We stand for the development and prosperity of Asia and the creation for this purpose of a wide open space for mutually beneficial trade and investment cooperation, for the expansion and deepening of cooperation ties in various sectors of the economy,” the Russian leader emphasized.

“And of course, together with other Asian states, we are doing everything to form a system of equal and indivisible security based on the universally recognized principles of international law of the UN Charter,” Putin said.
