Zelensky: Saudi Arabia promised to provide Kyiv with macro-financial assistance

Ukraine (bbabo.net), - Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky said that he had agreed with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, on Riyadh providing macro-financial assistance to Kyiv.

“I spoke with Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman. We have agreed on the provision by Saudi Arabia of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine,” Zelensky wrote on his Twitter page.

Earlier, Washington criticized the authorities of Saudi Arabia for the decision, together with the countries of the OPEC + association, which includes Russia, to reduce oil production by 2 million barrels per day since November. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that the authorities in Riyadh are coordinating their energy policy with Russia. The Saudi Foreign Ministry rejected criticism of the OPEC + decision and said that any attempts to distort the kingdom's position regarding the crisis in Ukraine are untenable.

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said that the country decided to cut oil production not to the detriment of the United States. He stressed that Saudi Arabia sees oil not as a weapon, but as a commodity and an important part of the global economy.
