Asia (bbabo.net), - Against the backdrop of escalating confrontation with Western countries, Russia will remain a strategic partner for China after the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China (CCP), which will determine the top political leadership of the country. This was stated today, October 16, by RIA Novosti leading researcher at the Center for Socio-Economic Research of China, Institute of the Far East of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Rozalia Varfalovskaya.
“Russia, the SCO countries, BRICS will remain strategic partners for China, as the West is also trying to crush its high economic achievements within the entire world economy in a non-competitive struggle,” the expert noted.
According to her, after the 20th Congress, special emphasis will be placed on innovative development in all sectors of the economy.
“The emphasis in the Chinese economy in the future will also be placed on the sustainable development of the production and financial sectors, the security of global development, the provision of energy resources for the active interaction of all sectors of the Chinese economy,” Varfalovskaya said.
Speaking about possible reshuffles in the composition of the country's top political leadership, the expert expressed the opinion that significant changes should not be expected. She recalled that the participants of the final plenary session of the 19th convocation unanimously decided to approve the activities of the CPC Central Committee in a difficult international situation, along with solving difficult tasks in the field of reform, development and stability in the country.
“All this creates favorable conditions for the absence of significant changes in the top leadership of the CPC following the results of the 20th Congress,” Varfalovskaya believes.
As reported, the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China will be held in Beijing from October 16 to 22, and will be attended by nearly 2,300 delegates from all over China, representing over 96 million members of the CCP. The congress will sum up the results of the CPC's five-year work, outline the goals that the Party and the country will strive to achieve in the next five years, consider and approve amendments to the Party Rules, and elect a new composition of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection. After the closing of the congress, the first plenum of the 20th CPC Central Committee is to be held, which will appoint the top leadership of the party - members of the Politburo and the Standing Committee of the Politburo. Observers believe that current CCP Secretary General Xi Jinping will remain in office for a third term.
