Minsk denied World Bank information on outstanding debts

Belarus (bbabo.net), - Belarus is fulfilling all its obligations to service external debts. About it today. October 19, announced the Ministry of Finance of the Republic.

“In April-October, the Ministry of Finance fulfilled in full and on time the obligations under the Loan Agreements concluded between Belarus and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, transferring payments at the expense of funds in foreign currency to a separate current account in Belarusian rubles opened with OJSC "ASB Belarusbank", - reported in the Belarusian department.

The Ministry of Finance of Belarus also recalled that the ability to pay debt obligations in foreign currency in the "standard order" for the republic is now limited due to sanctions.

Recall that due to Western sanctions, Belarus had questions with the fulfillment of its debt obligations in foreign currency, since restrictions were introduced, including against the National Bank of the country. Therefore, a decree was adopted on March 14, which allows temporary payment of foreign loans, including those from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), in Belarusian rubles. On October 18, the World Bank announced that it was transferring loans that the IBRD had previously given to Minsk to the status of non-performing, since the payments allegedly had not been received.
