Turkey - Tayfun OTRK tested

Kavkaz (bbabo.net), - The new Tayfun operational-tactical missile system (OTRK) manufactured by the Turkish company Roketsan was tested on October 18 from the launch site of the Rize-Artvin airport in Turkey. The ballistic missile covered 561 km in 458 seconds and fell in the Sinop area. According to TK Readovka, the targets of the new complex will be both surface and ground facilities.

As the source notes, Turkey thus "presented the most long-range weapon in its history and claims full control not only over the entire Black Sea, but also over the continental part of many countries, including Russia."

“Apparently, the Turkish development in terms of range exceeds the Russian Iskanders, the range of which was artificially low in favor of the agreement with the United States on medium-range missiles, which was canceled in 2019,” the publication notes.

The Turkish Defense Industry Agency refused to disclose any clarifying details about the Tayfun project and the results of the first tests.
