Asia (bbabo.net), - Issues of strengthening the Tajik-Iranian trade, economic and investment cooperation were discussed at a meeting in Dushanbe of the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Abdurakhmon Abdurakhmonzoda with the Deputy Minister of Urban Development and Transport of Iran Shahrier Afandizoda. This was announced today, October 21, by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Tatarstan.
As noted at the meeting, Iran is one of the main trading partners of Tajikistan. For 8 months of 2022, the volume of foreign trade between the two countries amounted to $ 143.2 million. This is $ 96.4 million more than in the same period in 2021.
According to the representative of Tajikistan, there are many untapped opportunities between the two countries. He recalled that in order to steadily increase the volume of trade, Dushanbe and Tehran signed a program of long-term trade and economic cooperation for 2022-2030.
The parties agreed that in the near future they would hold a meeting in the format of a videoconference, where the possibilities of free economic zones in Tajikistan would be presented.
It is reported that both representatives noted their readiness to create joint ventures on Tajik territory with the attraction of Iranian investments and to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
