Nuclear weapons and shutdown of gas supplies - Minsk ready to respond to Europe

Belarus (bbabo.net), - Belarus is seriously considering the possibility of deploying Russian nuclear weapons on its territory in the event of a threat from NATO.

This statement was made by the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Vladimir Makei in an interview with RT Arabic. According to him, Minsk is ready to take such a step if it feels a threat from NATO.

“This is one of the possible responses to possible future actions by the North Atlantic Alliance,” the minister said.

At the same time, he explained that it was in Minsk that they would consider a threat from the Alliance sufficient for this. Makei repeated the thesis of President Alexander Lukashenko that nuclear weapons will appear in Belarus if similar NATO systems are deployed in Poland.

The head of the foreign policy department supported the policy of his president in the field of countering sanctions by the West.

Makei fully admitted that Minsk could go to cut off gas supplies to the European market as a response to the sanctions imposed by the West against Belarus.

“As for President Lukashenko’s statements that we can cut off gas supplies to the European market, I want to say that this is only one of the possible responses to the sanctions that the West has imposed against Belarus,” the Foreign Minister explained.

He stressed that Minsk strives for cooperation with all partners. But at the same time, the republic will respond to all unfriendly actions taken against it.

Earlier, bbabo.net reported that the Belarusian Foreign Ministry appealed to the European Union to stop generating tensions and start jointly solving problems in the region through dialogue.

We also reported that lately Minsk has begun to hear more and more statements about the growing tension around Belarus, which may end in direct military aggression against the republic.
