Caucasus (bbabo.net), - Amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Dagestan were adopted on October 27 at the 15th session of the People's Assembly.

74 parliamentarians voted in favor of the amendments, two abstained, two voted against.

As bbabo.net reported, there are three amendments. The first concerns the annual report on the activities of the government of the republic before the People's Assembly. Previously, this report was presented by the head of the republic. The second amendment concerns the terms of office for the head of Dagestan, the norm of the law has been brought into line with the Basic Law of the country.

An amendment that eliminated the rule on the responsibility of the head for the integrity of the republic led to a resonance in the republic. The authorities of the republic said in response to public figures who are shaking this issue that the constitutional norm on changing borders only after the will of the multinational people of the Republic of Dagestan remains the same, the amendments do not pose any threat to the territorial integrity of the republic.
