USA (bbabo.net), - The US Ambassador showed the Moldovans who is the boss in the house. This statement was made today, on October 27, by the ex-president of Moldova, Igor Dodon, commenting on what was made the day before by the head of the diplomatic mission in Chisinau, Kent D. Logsdon, about personal sanctions against a number of persons posing a threat to the Sandu regime.
According to the leader of the socialists, representatives of the currently ruling Action and Solidarity party began, like small children, to rejoice and clap their hands, they do not understand what is really happening.
“We have an independent, sovereign country, and when someone from the outside tells us that this person is bad, and this one is good, we turn into a banana republic. The citizens of Moldova are now being used for geopolitical interests, and yesterday’s appearance of the US ambassador to the press is a direct signal: “We are the masters here, and as we say, it will be so,” Dodon stated.
Recall that yesterday at a briefing, Logsdon announced that the US State Treasury had imposed sanctions for corruption against fugitive Moldovan businessmen and politicians Vladimir Plahotniuc and Ilan Shor, as well as against some persons associated with them. After that, the head of the Ministry of Justice of Moldova, Sergei Litvinenko, hastened to “please” his colleagues that, on the basis of this, the issue of banning the Shor party, which brings people to thousands of rallies demanding the resignation of the government and early elections, will be considered.
Speaking about the person of the former leader of the Democratic Party, Vladimir Plahotniuc, Dodon compared him with Sandu and predicted an unenviable fate for the current head of state. The politician emphasized that “the United States used Plahotniuc against Russia and threw it out,” and expressed confidence that the current rulers are also destined for it.
“At one time, he did much more for the United States of America than Maia Sandu did: he opened the NATO center in Chisinau, ceded the Republican Stadium to the Americans, closed Russian television channels, deployed Rogozin’s plane (at that time the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Moldova). And despite all this, the Americans decided to impose sanctions against him. I don’t understand why the representatives of the authorities are happy, because this is what awaits them in the end - Sandu, Gavrilitsa and the others, ”Dodon believes.
He added that as soon as they cease to be useful to their masters and are no longer of interest to the United States, they will do the same.
“This is a lesson for all politicians who believe that if they play into the hands of the Americans against the Russians, then the Americans will protect them for life. No, it won’t be like that, and yesterday we saw it all,” concluded Igor Dodon.
It is obvious that after the recognition of the Shor party as outlawed, the Moldovan authorities will take up the Party of Socialists.
As bbabo.net reported, criminal proceedings were initiated against Igor Dodon for corruption and treason. According to one of the criminal cases now being considered by the court, Dodon received a large amount of money from the then leader of the Democratic Party, oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc.
Together with Ilan Shor and Vladimir Plakhoniuc, Igor Chaika, co-chair of the Russian-Moldovan business union, of which Dodon is also a co-chair, was included in yesterday's US sanctions list. He is accused of interfering in Moldovan politics. Allegedly, Chaika, together with the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, "developed detailed plans to undermine the position of the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, and return the country to the Russian sphere of influence."
