China intends to firmly support Russia under Putin - Wang Yi

Asia (bbabo.net), - China will support Russia in strengthening its status as a major power in the international arena. This was stated on October 27 by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

According to the Chinese minister, China intends to "firmly support the Russian side so that the Russian people, under the leadership of President Putin, unite and overcome difficulties, remove all obstacles and achieve strategic development goals."

He also noted that China will support Russia in "strengthening its status as a major power in the international arena."

In turn, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov informed his Chinese counterpart by phone about the progress of the special military operation in Ukraine and expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for supporting Moscow's position, as well as efforts to curb provocations using components of weapons of mass destruction.

According to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov and Wang Yi praised the current state of Russian-Chinese relations, which continue to demonstrate "dynamic development in the face of geopolitical uncertainty and turbulence," and also touched upon topical regional and global issues.

The Russian Foreign Minister congratulated the Chinese minister on his election to the Politburo of the 20th CPC Central Committee.

After the end of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to Secretary General of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping, demonstrating a high level of mutual trust and strong mutual support between Russia and China, Wang Yi said.
