Russia (bbabo.net), - President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said that he did not inform Chinese leader Xi Jinping about plans to conduct a military special operation in Ukraine.
At a session of the Valdai Discussion Club, the host asked the president if he had warned his Chinese counterpart during his February visit to Beijing about Russia's plans for Ukraine. After a negative answer, the host asked how the leader of the PRC reacted to this.
“No… You know, the Chinese leader is not the type of person to take offense at anything. Self-sufficient global leader. Well, then, we do not have such a need, we make sovereign decisions - both Russia and the People's Republic of China. China perfectly sees what the West’s desire to advance the infrastructure of the NATO bloc to our borders means for Russia, it objectively assesses these situations, just as it sees what has happened in the Donbass in the past eight years, it is perfectly able to assess the consequences and causes of the coup d’état in Ukraine in 2014,” Putin said.
The President added that Beijing stands for pragmatic, balanced solutions to the crisis that is taking place in Ukraine, for resolving the issue peacefully - and Russia respects this position.
