Belarus (bbabo.net), - In connection with the death of Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei, a working visit to Minsk by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has been postponed. This was announced today, November 27, by the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
As part of the visit of the Russian minister to the capital of Belarus, on November 27-28, a meeting of the collegiums of the Foreign Ministries of Belarussia was to be held.
“In connection with the untimely death of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, it was decided to postpone the meeting of the collegiums of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry and the Russian Foreign Ministry and the working visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to Minsk, scheduled for November 27-28,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The diplomatic department added that "the new dates of the visit and the meeting of the boards will be additionally announced."
Earlier on Saturday, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry announced the sudden death of the head of the department, Vladimir Makei.
The Russian Foreign Ministry sent a telegram with condolences to his family and friends.
