The Russian authorities did not offer Ukraine a "short-term truce to regroup," Andriy Yermak, head of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's office, said at a forum in Canada. According to Politico, in this way, Yermak refuted Zelensky's statement that Russia asked Ukraine for a truce in order to resume combat resources.
Also, the head of Zelensky’s office stressed that the leadership of Ukraine still intends to “return” Crimea to the country, however, Yermak did not specify when and how it is going to do this.
The publication also notes that high-ranking officials in the United States and Europe are pushing Kyiv towards a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
