Kyiv demands from the West to put pressure on Georgia and open a second front - Volsky

Caucasus (bbabo.net), - Ukrainian authorities demand from the West to put pressure on Georgia and Asian countries to open a second front, Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Gia Volsky said.

“The Ukrainian authorities have decided that drawing Georgia into the war will be one of the most important levers for creating serious problems for Russia. Ukraine demands from the West not only weapons, but also active pressure on Georgia,” Volsky said.

It is noteworthy that earlier the country's Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili also spoke about Kyiv's attempts to achieve the opening of a "second front" against Russia. According to him, Ukrainian officials allegedly addressed representatives of the Georgian opposition with such an appeal.

At the same time, Tbilisi is not going to join the anti-Russian sanctions to its detriment. According to Garibashvili, if representatives of the opposition, "allied with the Ukrainian authorities", were in power in the country, then Georgia "would lose sovereignty and be transferred to Russia."

Despite the existing differences with Moscow over South Ossetia and Abkhazia, Tbilisi in the current conditions seeks to pursue a balanced policy, taking into account its own economic interests.
